Ms. Caves began her teaching career in Kaufman ISD as the Assistant Band director at Norman Junior High and Kaufman High School. During her first year of teaching she was promoted to Head Band Director at Norman Junior High. Ms. Caves was also the Color Guard Director at Kaufman High School during her years in Kaufman.

Ms. Caves is originally from Arlington, Texas, where she graduated from Arlington High School. She received her undergraduate education from Texas Christian University, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Music Education. During her time at TCU she primarily played the clarinet and bass clarinet in the TCU Wind Symphony. She also spent time playing the euphonium and saxophone in the TCU Concert Band, and baritone in the TCU Horned Frog-Marching Band and TCU Basketball Band.
