A little about me

Bio Emerson

Connor Korioth is an Assistant Band Director at Keller High School, and teaches the Concert Band 1 and Applied Music. Originally from Austin, Texas, Mr. Korioth is a graduate of Vandegrift High School and holds music degrees from Texas Christian University and The University of Texas at Austin.


Most recently, Mr. Korioth graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Master’s degree in Music Performance. While at UT Austin, Mr. Korioth was a member of the Symphony Orchestra, many different chamber ensembles, and notably performed at Carnegie Hall with the Wind Ensemble. Prior to completing his graduate work, Mr. Korioth graduated with honors from Texas Christian University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. At TCU, he was a member of the Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble, and served as a section leader in the Horned Frog Marching Band. With the TCU Wind Symphony, Mr. Korioth performed at both the Texas Music Educators Association Convention and College Band Directors National Association Conference. His primary teachers have been Charles Villarrubia, Jerry Junkin, Dr. Clay Garrett, Richard Murrow, and Laura Singletary.


As a performer, Mr. Korioth has had a lot of success in several auditions and competitions. He has been named a semi-finalist and finalist auditioning for many professional groups, including the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, U.S Air Force Ceremonial Brass Band, and the U.S Air Force Band of Mid-America. Additionally, Mr. Korioth has been named a semi-finalist in the Leonard Falcone International Solo Competition, the South Central Regional Tuba/Euphonium Chamber Competition, and has earned third prize in the International Tuba/Euphonium Association “Arnold Jacobs” Mock Orchestra Audition.


Prior to teaching in Keller, Mr. Korioth served as a private low brass instructor in Austin ISD and Round Rock ISD. He has led several masterclasses throughout the Austin metroplex, and has had many students advance through the TMEA All-State process. Mr. Korioth has also served as a marching technician at his alma mater, Vandegrift High School. Outside of teaching, Mr. Korioth enjoys spending time with friends/family, being outdoors fishing, and playing disc golf.
